El Ejército de República Dominicana, en su misión de promover el proceso integral educativo de sus miembros, mediante un acto solemne, realizó la VIII Graduación Ordinaria de la Escuela de Graduados de Estudios Militares (EGEMERD), en la cual otorga a sus estudiantes los certificados que los acreditan como graduados de los cursos de Comando y Estado Mayor para fuerzas terrestres y de Operaciones Militares para Oficiales Auxiliares.
Estos cursos tienen como objetivo dotar a los oficiales superiores del Ejército de República Dominicana y demás instituciones armadas de las competencias necesarias en el ámbito operacional y táctico, proveyéndoles una formación militar que cuenta con los más altos estándares de calidad.
En la ceremonia fueron reconocidos, como graduado de honor el Mayor Carlos Eduardo Galvá Nin, ERD., quien tuvo a cargo las palabras de agradecimiento en nombre de la promoción, como graduado distinguido, el Mayor Manuel Alexis Severino Hernández, ERD., mientras que la distinción en Excelencia Física la obtuvo el Tte. Cor. Danny Silverio Batista Ozuna, ERD.
El Comandante General del Ejército, Mayor General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, presidió el acto de graduación acompañado del Director General de las Escuelas Vocacionales de las FF. AA y la P.N., Mayor General Juan José Otáño Jiménez, ERD., el subcomandante General, General de Brigadas Ángel Alfredo Camacho Ubiera, ERD., el Inspector General, General de Brigada Félix Edwin Santana Morillo, ERD., así como del Rector del Instituto Superior para la Defensa, INSUDE, General de Brigada Francisco Ant. Ovalle Pichardo, ERD., y el director de la EGEMERD, Coronel Jorge Luis Vásquez Suarez, ERD., miembros del Estado Mayor Coordinador de la institución e invitados especiales.
